Hartmut Brauer (Cello)

Hartmut Brauer studied at the Spezialschule für Musik Halle/Saale and between 1969 and 1974 at the university of music "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig. He made his first experiences as a professional musician at the Komische Oper Berlin , later in 1977 he accepted the position of the substitutional solo cellist at the Gewandhaus Leipzig..
As a well-known chamber musician he played many concerts in Germany and all over europe. Several recordings, especially with the Bacheschen Collegium Musicum, escort his musical career.
Hartmut Brauer is founder of the Klengel-Collegium (a chamber ensemble consisting in 6 cello players and one double bass player) and for many years has been member of the saxonian piano trio.
Since 1980 he has been teaching and working with numerous young cello students - first at the Spezialschule für Musik Halle/Saale, later at the university of music "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" Leipzig in the major cello and cello in orchestral excerpts.
