Prof. Christian Lampert (horn)

Christian Lampert was born in 1967 in Offenburg. He attended his first music classes on the French horn with F. Raselli, M. Cakar and Prof. E. Penzel. During his studies he was laureate of the "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes" and won several awards in national and international music contests, e.g. the International Instrument Contest Markneukirchen and the German Music Competition Bonn. From 1989 to 1996 he played solo French horn in the Frankfurt Opera and the Museum Orchestra Frankfurt. In 1996 he was offered the solo position in the Radio-Sinfonie-Orchestra Frankfurt and engaged as solo French horn in the Bayreuth Festspiel Orchestra in the same year. In 2004 he was nominated professor at the University of Music and Arts in Stuttgart.

Next to his solo career he is also active as a chamber musician and recorded numerous CDs with the Avalon Woodwind Quintet. Since 2004 he teaches French horn at the University of Music Basel and Stutgart. He workes as coach for French horn in the INTERNATIONALE JUNGE ORCHESTERAKADEMIE projects since 1999.
